Recently I was trying to think of a new way of dressing up my greens mixture of iceberg lettuce, rucola, lamb’s lettuce and red cabbage. Let’s face it, they’re not everyone’s piece of cake. With this simple and naughty dressing, my salad was ready to party. Alas, it did not. It vanished within a few minutes.
I got my idea from here, as I fancied something rather hot. You will need mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, Tabasco sauce and paprika.
(And now, like a proper scientist) the proportion of mayo : ketchup : mustard that I used was approximately 3: 0.5 : 2. I used wholegrain mustard for a little extra ‘pop’ but any mustard you like will work for this dressing. I added 1 generous tablespoon of paprika and then about 1 teaspoon of Tabasco. Go easy on the Tabasco at first, mix the dressing up well before adding more if needed.
I also added a little bit of olive oil to enable it to mix well into the leaves.
