Smoothie with 1 banana, 1/4 honeydew melon, 1 local pear (tastes very much like an apple), 1 prune, 1 stick of celery, 1/3 teaspoon wheatgrass, 1/2 teaspoon raw cocoa energy mix (You can get this from D-Food Doctor locally), some coconut milk and iced water. Energy restored! (makes approximately 2 glasses)




Ever since spotting this recipe on various websites, I’ve been dying to try it out. The mixture of textures and levels of sweetness, combined with the tangy, salty tsatsiki made for a refreshing starter. There’s also something undeniably adventurous about it 🙂

Read how to make tsatsiki here. If possible make the tsatsiki a couple of hours beforehand as the taste improves if you let it sit for an hour or so in the fridge. Keep the watermelon and cucumber in the fridge just before cutting so that you will get sharper edges (obviously use a good knife). Wash the mint leaves and cut in half or thirds by hand. Serve with 2 tablespoons of tsatsiki on the side or drizzle some of top also.
