Wedges or slices of sweet potatoes, tossed in olive oil, sprinkled with spices, and baked on high heat until crispy and browned. Watch closely as they burn suddenly (evidence in picture). They may not be as moreish as regular potato chips or French fries, but they’re a fun and sweet alternative.
One sweet potato will make 2 portions of snack size or 2 side dishes.
Wash the sweet potato and dry well. You may leave the peel on as this will add to the crunch. Using a hand-held slicer make thin and equal slices. In a bowl, toss with a small amount of olive oil, salt, pepper and any spices of your choice (e.g. paprika, cayenne pepper, chili, oregano).
In the airfryer – set the temperature to 200 Celsius and cook for 10 minutes
Oven – set to 220 Celsius and bake for 8-10 minutes depending on thickness of slices, then flip over and cook for a further 5-8 minutes until crisp and browning to your liking.
