After reading about this here and then here, I was dying to try it out!! Also, because I was in the induction phase of the low carb diet and due to the heat – there was never a better time to try this out. I didn’t make it at home as we were invited over to a friend’s house – so I can assure you that this beverage is easy and quick to assemble.. i.e. it travels well. It would be a good idea to just ask your host to prepare some ice cubes beforehand (or as my very clever host did, freeze some sliced limes!) and you’re good to go!

You will need:

  • Fresh mint, chopped
  • Clementines and/or lemons and/or limes
  • Ice or freeze any of the above fruits
  • Water (still or sparkling) or lemonade or tonic water
  • Straws

Top up again with Sprite (the diet kind, in this case)

There are various ways to experiment with this really refreshing drink – why not try basil and strawberries? You may also prepare a pitcher a couple of hours earlier to give time for the infusion to happen and then add ice just before serving.

Yes I was quite disappointed to find that out. Till now I have tried this with water and diet sprite.. With water it already tastes really good though so I didn’t miss the tonic that much after all! Thanks for telling me about the diet tonic, not sure if it existed but now that you mention it I think I’ve had it at M&S before 🙂
