Why would you want to peel a green pepper? A large percentage of people will get heartburn or reflux from cooked green pepper and the cause of this is apparently found in the very thin peel. Also, you will find that the green pepper tastes better once this procedure is done, sweeter even.
You will need:
- green peppers
Spear your pepper with a fork, preferably on or near the stalk. Hold it over a flame and slowly rotate until the pepper is blackened slightly all around. This procedure takes a while so feel free to start adding the patience here.
Once your pepper has turned black all around (try to get all the gaps and folds too) run under cold water whilst you peel. Chuck in the rest of your patience just in case. It will come away quite quickly if you’ve done this properly.
Chop. Peel. Serve. The peppers will not re-visit 🙂
